Puraflex is a single-part polyurethane adhesive made by Everbuild Sika. It is perfect for your fibreglass flat roof, by bonding the trims to the roof and to the baton around the roof you ensure that the trim is fully stuck down with damage caused by screws and clout nails. The Polyurethane adhesive also keeps the flexibility needed when cured. fast easy to use and permanent. Also used for Joints, joining trims and corners, as an explanation adhesive, between boards and gaps and even replacing mortar. The product is manufactured by Everbuild Sika in the U.K, it is an extremely high-quality adhesive sealant as you would expect from Sika the manufactures of Sikaflex and other leading polyurethane products

Puraflex pu40 is a premium polyurethane adhesive and can be used for most applications that require a permanent bond, as a polyurethane it works extremely well bonding the fibreglass trim to the boards and the baton without and damage or loss of flexibility to the trim.

Pure Acetone / Virgin Acetone is pure to avoid any residue or contamination.

Effective cleaning for resin-based products.
Acetone will clean Laminating brushes, paddle rollers and all other fibreglass-related tools.

Acetone is used to help prime certain surfaces, Acetone generally will not damage the fibreglass surface as it evaporates quickly leaving no residue. Acetone will temporarily soften the fibreglass surface and acts as a primer, only use pure Acetone as mixed Actone is not suitable. Acetone should be used with care when applying it to a fibreglass surface and should not be used repeatably.

Fibreglass Trims are pre-molded profiles that are bonded to the roof prior to laying the fibreglass. Trim packs of any 10 x trims offer excellent value. Trims are manufactured with one side with a matt slightly rough finish this is to help the Fibreglass layer and the Topcoat to bond really well, as with the resin some other manufacturers overlook this really crucial detail, our fibreglass roofing trims have been tested and modified to ensure the best adhesion without any further sanding.

Fibreglass trims are also known as Fibreglass roof profiles, G.R.P Trims, roofing profiles, fibreglass roofing profiles, and other variations of these names. Fibregass flat roofing offers protection against all weather conditions, a very long life, maintenance-free with a AA Fire Certificate and a 25-year warranty.

The Topcoat is the end coat and is the part that is going to see all the foot traffic, the weather changes, hot summers, cold winters, ice, snow and rain. This is why at The Fibreglass Shop we only sell our premium Isophthalic base Topcoat, this offers up to 25% more durability than standard Topcoat, it also offers up to 45% better adhesion and is far more resistant against surface heat and chemicals including tree sap, pollution and the Uric Acid in bird waste.

Our Topcoat when used with our resin, trims, and chopped strand matting gives you a AA Fire Certificate, it also comes in a non slip formula, dark grey is the most popular colour for roofing and the best value, however, we can supply other colours please call us for details

Topcoat is a fast reaction product and should be mixed with 2% Catalyst, we recommend that you do not topcoat after 3pm. When used with our wax-free resin you can Topcoat without sanding between the fibreglass layer and the topcoat, this is far less work and more importantly, it removes the possibility of damaging the fibreglass reinforcement. Even with sanding a waxed resin, you will not be able to remove the wax in the uneven surface of the chopped strand mat without damaging the laminate. Our roofing system with the wax free resin and Isophthalic Topcoat has up to 80%  better adhesion between layers, and can be used from sheds to porches, to hotels and can be used with extra reinforcement for roof gardens.

Laminating brushes

Standard paint brushes should not be used with Fibreglass as they are too soft and the glue holding the bristle may not be compatible with the styrene in the resin. Paint brushes will be harder to use, take longer and result in dry sections in the laminate, painted handles can also cause problems as the paint may come off and contaminate the resin.

These brushes are designed to give the best result a stronger finish and no dry patchy sections with full impregnation through the laminate with minimal effort, plus they are great value and will make your job a lot easier.

All our brushes have no paint or varnish on the handles to ensure no contamination from flaking and the glue holding the bristles in has been tested to ensure it does not dissolve and is safe to use with polyester and epoxy resin. This ensures minimum loss of bristles into the gel coat or the laminating resin. We also make sure the glue does not dissolve into the resin mix again avoiding any contamination between products.

Our brushes can be cleaned in Acetone without the glue dissolving, they work well when gel coating, top coating, and laminating. Because the glue is very resistant against the Styrene in Polyester Resin the bristles do not fall out when being used. Our brushes are very good value. even though they are around the same price as cheap paint brushes they are not the same as cheap brushes or expensive paint brushes, these are made for laminating and for use with products that other brushes are not compatible with. They are far better when laminating than cheap and expensive paint brushes. These brushes are made with wooden handles, solvent-resistant glue, and firm short bristles, these brushes do not have any paint or coating on the handles this is to make sure there is no chance that any coating, paint or varnish mixing with and contaminating the resin. They have short and firm bristles so they are perfect for laminating. Paint brushes do not push the resin through the matting and can lead t a weak laminate and a lot more work.

It is never a good idea to base your decisions on price alone and sometimes cheaper items cost you far more in time and quality, we never sell cheap products and we test every product we sell, these are really great value they are perfect for laminating and they are a great price. They are very economical, especially by the box or case rate
